No radar emissions
Receivers listen; they do not transmit radar signals.
Distributed passive radar
Distributed passive radar for detecting airborne targets using existing radio signals.
Contact us →Non-emitting. Distributed. Affordable.
Our approach
Detect targets through reflections of existing radio signals.
Receivers listen; they do not transmit radar signals.
Connected receivers build a shared airspace picture.
Compact, low-power nodes support flexible deployment.
Why passive radar
Detect physical targets without relying on drone transmissions or emitting radar signals.
01 / Compared with RF-link sensing
RF sensors rely on drone radio transmissions. Autonomous drones may emit none.
Passive radar: Senses aircraft reflections, including potentially RF-silent drones.
02 / Compared with active radar
Active radar requires a transmitter, power, and spectrum coordination.
Passive radar: Uses existing signals for non-emitting, potentially lower-cost coverage.
Tradeoffs: RF sensing can identify emitters; active radar controls illumination. Passive radar depends on ambient signals and geometry.
What we're building
QuietSight is developing distributed passive radar for small-drone detection and tracking.
Our approach builds on the open-source Retina project, used to detect aircraft at civilian sites.
